Betty Lorene Harrington Tedder, 79, of Pop Davis Road, Taylorsville died on Monday, April 2, 2012 at her home. She was born in Alexander County, November 29, 1932 daughter of the late Roby Smith and Lois Pauline Loudermelk Harrington.
She was retired from Broyhill Furniture as an upholster inspector, following twenty-four years of service, and also worked for the late Fran Shook at the Burger Basket for fifteen years. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter, gardener and home canner, and she loved to cook and bake for her family. She was the number one fan of NASCAR driver, Kasey Kahne.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Vance Tedder; a son, Tony Charles Tedder and a brother, Jimmy Smith Harrington.
Survivors include four sons, Ronnie Morris Harrington, Danny Tedder and wife, Brenda, Donald Tedder and special friend, Tina Looper and Dwayne Tedder and wife, Rachel, all of Taylorsville; two daughters, Laura Doris Tedder, and life partner, David Hatton, and Darlene Renee Webster and husband, Gary all of Taylorsville; four sisters, Lana Davidson, Connie Steelman, Brenda Kanipe and Dawn Pless all of Taylorsville; two brothers, Darrell Harrington of Stony Point and Billy Harrington of Taylorsville; nine grandchildren, Tammy Harrington, Colin Harrington, Scotty Harrington, Earl Harrington, Derrick Hatton, Kassie Hatton, Lori Webster James and husband, Adrian, Dwona Mecimore Parsons and Patricia Dawn Tedder; eight great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Diane Alberts, and her son, Zack of Taylorsville.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Danny Loudermelk will officiate. There will be no formal visitation.
