Mr. John Alex Scorof, 72, of North Wilkesboro, passed away on July 20, 2017.
John was born on Saturday, November 11, 1944 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania to Alex Scorof and Grace Alice Wood Scorof.
John retired from Ford Motor Company where he was a high voltage electrician. He also enjoyed target shooting, building cars and racing cars.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
John is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Hattie Joan Scorof; son, John Alex Scorof, Jr. and fiancée, Michelle Ropa, of Fort Wayne Indiana; daughter, Tamara Baran of Syracuse, Utah; sister Linda Scorof of Garden City, Michigan; grandchildren, John Alex Scorof III, Alyssa Ropa, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel. Speaker Ken Welborn and Chaplin Larry Reavis with the VFW Post 1142 will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Scenic Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Military honors from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142.
Visitation will be held at 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel.
