Mrs. Linda Kilby Holloway, 75, of Millers Creek, was called to her heavenly home by our Lord and Savior on the evening of Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Linda was born on Sunday, October 12, 1941 to the late Freeman and Ila Dancy Kilby in Wilkes County.

Linda worked seventeen years at Holly Farms. She enjoyed looking after her grandchildren, gardening, canning and cooking. She always loved her Lord and her faith is what carried her through this life.  She was a member at Parkway Garden Baptist Church, where she was always active in the church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: five brothers, Don Kilby, Fred Kilby, Lake Kilby, June Kilby, Gwyn Kilby and one sister, Nell Kilby Shepherd, who was her best friend.

Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Holloway.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her two surviving children, Lorraine Holloway and Jim Holloway. Affectionately known as “Mamaw” by her four grandchildren, Chase Spears, Raquel Spears, Gracie Holloway and Levi Holloway, and one great granddaughter, Brenley.  Linda loved keeping her grandkids and took great delight in each one.

She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Linda brought a ray of sunshine along with her wherever she went with a kind and loving heart.

Our hearts are sad as we have to say our goodbyes here. But we rejoice in only imagining the homecoming she was welcomed with upon her death.  We know she was welcomed into the light of heaven and reunited with her parents and siblings.  She will be greatly missed by those of us left here.  We take comfort in knowing through our Savior, Jesus Christ we will be with her once more in our heavenly home. She will live on in our hearts and has left us with loving memories until we meet again.

The family request no flowers or food.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Parkway Garden Baptist Church, 799 State Rd 2335, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Reddies River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 2628 N NC Old Hwy 16, Millers Creek. Reverends Kerry Nichols, Billy Shepherd, and Cecil Royal will be officiating.

Always thought a lot of Linda, she and Nell were so much alike....I believe they are holding hands and strolling all over heaven together ....praying that knowing where she is makes this time of sorrow a little easier---it is so very hard to let a mother go...May God Bless you all with comfort and strength. Love to you all.

Dear Holloway Family:

Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. While I did not know Mrs. Holloway personally, I was saddened to hear she had passed. God's Word the Bible says there is going to be a resurrection (Acts 24:15) Jesus provided a foregleam of this when he resurrected his friend Lazarus. (John 11:43,44) Please review these scriptures in your personal copy of the Bible and may Jehovah, the "God of all comfort" comfort you and your family during this most difficult time.(Psalms 83:18) (2 Corinthians 1:3)
