Preston Earl Archer, 83 of Meadowridge Drive, Taylorsville died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born in Akron Ohio, August 1, 1926 son of the late Raymond A. Archer and Alice Maude Henry Archer.

 He retired from Good Year Aerospace in Akron Ohio, as Plant Manager, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, in Taylorsville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers.

 Survivors include his wife Mary Emma Winland Archer of the home; two daughters Connie Archer of Newcomerstown Ohio, and Karen Archer – Moore of Akron Ohio; four sons David Archer of Chicago, Danny Archer of Charlotte, Dale Archer of South Bend Indiana and Michael James Archer of the home; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

 The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date in Taylorsville, N.C.
