Gladys Hendren Campbell, 87 of NC HWY 90 East Hiddenite, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Taylorsville House. She was born in Wilkes County, November 11, 1922 daughter of the late Clarence J. and Zella Tevepaugh Hendren.
She was a retired seamstress and a member of Hiddenite Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Belt Campbell; a son Reginald James Campbell; two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters Susan Rogers and husband Rick of Taylorsville, and Dana Bunton and husband Jay of Statesville; four sisters Joann Powers of Greensboro, Betty Rufty of Salisbury, Elizabeth Oliver of Stony Point and Sally Moore of Moravian Falls; four brothers Roger Hendren, Lowell Hendren and Donald Hendren all of Moravian Falls and William Hendren of Greensboro; three grandchildren Ricky Rogers and wife Maria, Benjamin Rogers and Seth Bunton; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, in Wilkes County. The Revs. Mark Marshall and Jamie Steele will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Adams Funeral Home in Taylorsville, from 6 until 8 pm.
