Waltraud "Traudy" Else Anna Smeeks

            Waltraud ‘Traudy” Else Anna Smeeks born on March 14, 1935 in Naila, Germany passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Gertrude Findeiss, and her sister Edelgard.

            She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Frank “Chase” Jr.; her children, Thomas (Tammy) and Frank (Teresa); her grandchildren, Jessica, Krystina, Frank “Chase” IV, and Ahnnya; her great grandchildren, Chandler, Lola, and Anberlyn.

            Traudy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother “Oma”, who enjoyed cooking, baking, and bird watching. Her Christmas cookies were well known, enjoyed by all and will be missed. She was a dog lover and is now reunited with her beloved Schnauzer Blanca. Flowers were her passion and joy being an avid gardner. She enjoyed spending time planting and watching everything blossom into beauty. She was an extremely loyal military wife, supporting her husband, raising children, taking care of finances, and keeping the home fires burning.

            The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kim Ashley for her loving care of Traudy and supporting the family in her final days.

            At Traudy’s request there will be no funeral services.
