Herbert Harris (wilkes) Obituary

Mr. Herbert Hoover Harris, 89, of Wilkesboro, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018.

Herbert was born on Sunday, November 29, 1928 in Wilkes County to the late James Everett Harris and Macy Elizabeth Barnes Harris.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Celestine Harris; three brothers, Archie Harris, John Harris, Bill Harris; six sisters, Lillian Guinn, Margaret Baltimore, Francis Poindexter, Alice Horton, Minnie Ferguson and Emma Hardy.

Herbert is survived by his sister, Bettie Vick of Wilkesboro and brother, Monroe Harris of Detroit Michigan.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Scenic memorial Gardens Chapel in Wilkesboro. Rev. Willie Jackson and Rev. Ronald Howell will be officiating. The VFW Honor Guard Post # 1142 will be providing military honors. Entombment will follow funeral service.

A viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to funeral service.
