James Adam Williams, 65, of Country Oak Lane, Wilkesboro, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  He was born February 4, 1946 in Wilkes County to Ralph and Beatrice Shephard Williams.  He was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church.  He was a US Army Veteran and served during the Vietman Era.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Bonnie Anderson; two brothers, Leroy Williams and Russell Williams.

Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Horton Williams of the home; two daughters, Jamie Williams and Natalie Williams both of Wilkesboro; one son, Matthew Adam Williams of Wilkesboro; his mother of Wilkesboro; four sisters, Annie Mae Starling, Donna Blankenship and husband Don all of Wilkesboro, Rachel Jones of Greensboro, Cathy Sumpter and husband Jerry of MI; two brothers, Dean Williams and wife Kathy, Coy Ray Williams and wife Helen all of Wilkesboro.

Funeral services will be 11:00 o'clock Friday at First United Methodist Church in North Wilkesboro with Dr. Keith Franklin and Rev. Darrell Poole officiating.  Burial with military honors by VFW Post 1142 will be in Fishing Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church from 12:00 until 1:00 o'clock on Friday following the service and at other times at the home of James and Elizabeth Williams, 290 Country Oak Lane, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the College Fund of Natalie Williams and Matthew Williams, c/o First Citizens Bank, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.

Pallbearers will be Jim Combs, Thomas Wagoner, Eric Mastin, Richard Horton, Ronald Tinnin, Buck Nance, Shade Call, Jeff McNeil.
