Mrs. Jo Ann Teakell Reese, 76, of Molly Reese Lane, Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Reese was born August 21, 1941 in Hill County, Texas, the daughter of Katherine Putnam Teakell and the late Eunice William Teakell.
She was a clerical worker, who had worked for Carolina Glove, Alexander Truck & Equipment and Repair. She also was an independent truck driver, and had also worked for Gaines Motor Lines and she retired from the Hiddenite Museum. Jo Ann was a life long member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, was on the church council and also a Sunday school teacher. She was definitely a full time Christian, who put others before her-self. She loved being a homemaker, loved and adored her family. She loved her time spent at the Hiddenite Center. She was a lady who could do almost anything.
Including her father, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Henry Leon Reese; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Reese; a son, Russell Paul Reese.
Including her mother, those left to cherish her memory include: a daughter, Terry Reese Pittman and fiancé, Michael Minish, of Newton; two sons, Randall Leon Reese and wife, Rhonda, of Taylorsville, Henry Keith Reese and wife, Tracy, of Newton; seven grandchildren, Joshua Paul Reese, Demetri Gatica, Heather Brown, Christina Summers, Katherine Reese, Staci Byrd, Daphne White; three sisters, Sonya Wilks, Peggy Jones, Brenda Taggart all of Texas; two brothers, Ray Teakell of Oklahoma, Louie Teakell of Texas.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Pastor Andrew Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:45 p.m. prior to the service in the St. Luke Lutheran Fellowship Building.
