Johnny Dockery, 47, of Hiddenite, formerly of Elkhorn/Powhatan, WV passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Hiddenite.
He was born July 2, 1967 in Welch, WV to the late Frank Dockery, Sr. and Mary J. Dockery Wallington.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of Northfork High School “Class of 1985” and worked in the furniture industry for years.
Johnny will be remembered as wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He will be greatly missed by his family and closest friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his sons, Jonathan Jafan Dockery of Greensboro and Joshua Allen of Wilkesboro; a daughter, Megan Holit of Lenoir; two sisters, Eddie Marie Dockery of Elkhorn, WV and E. Mae Dockery Surratt of Fayetteville; two brothers, Frank Dockery, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Taylorsville and Clinton McLeod of Fayetteville; a granddaughter and three grandsons; two aunts, Eddie Mae Gravely of Powhatan, WV and Gertrude Reese of Guyton, GA; three uncles, Roland Henderson and wife, Rose, of Powhatan, WV, Percy James Henderson of Taylorsville and Johnny Dockery of Fayetteville; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews and extended family friends.
The family will conduct a memorial service 3 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his home, 315 Ervin Lane, Hiddenite with family and friends to honor and respect of Johnny’s life.
