Mrs. Texie Millsaps Branton, age 100, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Branton was born February 10, 1918 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Edward A. Millsaps and Pearlie Elizabeth Parker Millsaps.
She was a homemaker and a charter member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was always a dedicated, faithful member as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, loved to garden and dearly loved her family of which there was five generations.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lester Lawrence Branton; a great-grandchild, Jessica Lynnette Miller; two brothers, Beauford Millsaps, Lindsay Millsaps; three sisters, Alta Salter, Rowena James, Georgia Lloyd.
Those family members left to cherish and honor her memory include: two daughters, Hilda Bebber and Linda Kerley both of Taylorsville; two sons, Lawrence Branton and Rev. Phil Branton both of Hiddenite; grandchildren, Amy Schroeder, Andy Bebber, Mark Bebber and wife, Ann, Angie Bebber Keever and husband, Rev. James Keever, Chuck Bebber and wife, Rhonda, Jamie Miller and husband, Guy, Julie Sebastian and husband, Chris, Tammy Vince and husband, George; great-grandchildren, Cherish Schroeder, Summer Schroeder, Hannah Bebber, Haley Bebber Gant, Samanthia Bebber Phipps, Ally Bebber, Jacob Bebber, Heather Keever, Amanda Keever, Kaleb Bebber, Jake Miller, Kaylee Miller, Parker Sebastian, Harrison Sebastian, Joshua Vince, Savannah Vince; great-great-grandchildren, Baylee Baker, Jase Keller, Abigail Phipps, Alania Phipps; four brothers, Tom Millsaps and wife, Josephine, Edward Millsaps and wife, Gail, Clint Millsaps and wife, Margaret, all of Hiddenite, Rayford Millsaps and wife, Nancy, of Statesville; three sisters, Jettie Millsaps of Hiddenite, Ollie Dollyhite of Charlotte, Helen Gant and husband, Max, of Taylorsville.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church. Revs. Durant Barr, James R. Fox and James Keever will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. prior to the service.
