Willard "Pete" Lee Mesimore

            Mr. Willard “Pete” Lee Mesimore, age 93, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at Valley Nursing Center.

            Willard was born March 8, 1926 in Alexander County, to the late Gus Mecimore and Sallie Goble Mecimore.

            He was a US Army veteran and worked as a farmer. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church on Macedonia Church Road, Taylorsville.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Corrine Mecimore and Dorothy Mecimore Bebber; a brother, Wilburn Reid Mecimore.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: two nieces, Glenna Yoder and husband, Easton, of Newton, Valeria Gaines and husband, David, of Taylorsville; two nephews, Terry Bebber of Newton, Ronald Mecimore and wife, Martha, of Taylorsville; a number of great-nieces and nephews.

            A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2019 at Macedonia Baptist Church on Macedonia Church Road, Taylorsville with full military honors accorded by Alexander County Veterans Honor Guard. Rev. Dan Spears will officiate.

            The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Valley Nursing Home for their genuine care and love for the years of taking care of Willard.
