Ann Dyson

            Ann H. Dyson, age 84, of Stony Point, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

            Ann was born December 21, 1939 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Lee Ozell Hammer and Naomi Rufty Hammer.

            Ann was a teacher’s assistant for Stony Point and Hiddenite Elementary Schools. Earlier in her working career she was a banker for North Western Bank. She attended Unity Christian Church, earlier in life she was a part of Stony Point Baptist. She enjoyed scrap booking and being with her friends. Ann loved all sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Carolina Tarheels, and Dallas Cowboys. She loved watching her grandchildren playing all sports. She was a prayer warrior.

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 65 years, Bobby Dale Dyson; her brothers, Larry Hammer (Sherry), Jerry Hammer (Diane).

            Those left to cherish and honor her memory includes: her daughters, Kim Rape (Butch) of Statesville, Alicia Smith of Taylorsville; her son, Rodney Dyson (Melissa) of Wittenburg Community; her sister, Pat Cockrell (Steve) of Stony Point; her grandchildren, Kassidy Phinney, Kenzi Smith, Kade Smith (Sierra), Kelbi Kerley (Jaron), Paxton Dyson, Emily Owens, Noah Deane, Jonah Deane; and a number of special friends and loved ones.

            A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Unity Christian Church. Pastor Scott Hammer will officiate.

            The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
