Arba Della (McBride) Baxley

            Arba Della McBride Baxley, age 88, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at UNC Health Lumberton.

            Arba was born December 17, 1936, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Wayne McBride and Ada Parries McBride.

            After attending Pfeiffer College, Arba worked as an Elementary School teacher. Also, she worked as a Beautician and later as a NC State Board Sanitarian Examiner.  She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She loved traveling, cruising, going to casinos, cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, farming and doing crafts.

              Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, David Roma Baxley, Sr.; two sons, Gregory Dean Baxley, David Roma Baxley, Jr; granddaughter, Courtney Blake Baxley; sisters, Jeanne White, Kathleen Allen, Pauline Kirkman, Betty Edwards; a brother, Rick McBride.

            Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her daughter, Joan Maria Baxley of Sneads Ferry, NC; her grandchildren, Miranda Baxley, Christina Asbury (Ashley), Brittany Hawkin (Micheal), her great-grandchildren, Lincoln Asbury, Lily Hawkins; her sister, Doris Jacoby; her brother, Wayne McBride; her sister-in-law, Nancy McBride; her brother-in-law, Jim Allen; special cousins, Lynda and Fred Richter; and a number of other family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
