Mrs. Beatrice “Peggy” Iona Miller Bentley, age 88, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her home.
Peggy was born February 25, 1932 in Ashe County, the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Miller and Glennie Idokes St. Clair Miller.
She had worked in the textile industry and was a member of Riverview Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was a farmer. She was a faithful companion and good wife to her husband Ray.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Ruth St. Clair and husband, Fred.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include: her husband of 66 years, Ray Howard Bentley; two sisters, Mary Bentley and husband, Gary, Martha Mecimore and husband, Conley; brother, Ralph Miller and wife, Bobbie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Riverview Primitive Baptist Church. Elder James McNeil will officiate.
No public visitation but the body will lie-in-state from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020 and also from 9-11 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home for the public to view and and get a memorial folder.
