Betty B. Mitchell, age 91, of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at her home. She was born May 17, 1933 in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Joseph Edgar Ball and Della Burnett Ball.
Betty was raised by her loving aunt, Emma Smith, after her mother passed December 18, 1933. She worked for Holly Farms, Southern Device and was also a Certified Nursing Assistant. Betty loved family gatherings, travel, and gardening. She attended Friendship Lutheran Church when she was able.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her aunt who raised her, Emma Smith; husband, Ruben “Rube” Lee Adams; brothers, James “Jim” Ball, John Ball; sister, Jossie Ball Lackey Carrigan.
Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her husband, Jimmy Durant Mitchell; her son, Roger Lee Adams (Patsy Robinson); her daughter, Judy Adams Dagenhart (Thomas Cunningham), her step-children, Denise Rhyne (Tim), Randy Mitchell (Martha), Jeffery Mitchell (Tina), Kristie Farley; her grandchildren, David Roger Adams, Daniel Ray Adams, Dean Russell Adams (April Dyson), Shannon Lee Dagenhart and Laura Dagenhart Starnes and their father, Harlan “Bucky” Dagenhart; her step-grandchildren, Crystal Horner (Jonathan), Anthony Rhyne (Morgan), Shelley Arthur (Kevin), Megean Rhyne, Hailey Pyatte (Bradley), Evan Wynegar, Jessie Wilson (Cory); her great-grandchildren, Hank Adams, Kaylyn Adams, Abbie Adams, Bryson Adams and their mother, Tammy Adams, Sarah Burgess (Lev), Summer Glass (Cole), Dalton Adams, Mitchell Dagenhart, Julee Dagenhart, Mattie Starnes Hager (Aiden), Karlee Starnes; her step great-grandchildren, James Horner, Mason Arthur, Bailey Arthur, Reed Travis, Sebastian Wilson, Wyatt Wilson, Beckett Rhyne; her great-great-grandchildren, Roby and Chloe Glass; her cousin, Violet Case Miller; and her fury friend, “Trixie”.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2024, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Durant Barr and Pastor Sheridan Stanton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service.
