Billie "Fred" Fox Sr.

            Billie “Fred” Fox, Sr., age 80, of Hiddenite, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

            Fred was born October 26, 1943, in Iredell County, the son of the late Billy Sawyer Fox and Nellie Jolly Fox.

            He was a farmer for most of his working career and a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He enjoyed camping, riding on his tractor, and spending time with his family especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Melton and a brother, JC Fox.

Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his wife of 62 years, Madeline Tedder Fox of the home; his daughter, Kim Childers (Roscoe) of Hiddenite; his sons, Dale Fox (Karen) of Taylorsville, Jeff Fox of Hiddenite, Billy Fred Fox, Jr. (Tamara) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Jerrod Fox (Carly), Delaney Fox, Shatana Blakenship, Ashley Moses (Chris), Jessy Fox (Lauren), Jessica Hammer (Landon), Cassie Propst (Logan), Tylor Fox (Anna), Tanya Fox, Tina Fox, Trista Fox; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; his sister, Patricia Watson (Allan) of Taylorsville; his brother, Ricky Fox (Carol) of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church. Pastor Taylor Miller and Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
