Billy Ray Reavis, age 83, of Taylorsville, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Valley Nursing Center.
Billy was born July 26, 1941, in Iredell County, the son of the late W.K. Reavis and Faye Hepler Reavis.
Billy proudly served in the United States Army. He attended CountrySide Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading, writing, painting, bird watching, eating at the J.O.Y. senior meals, being with his family, and socializing. Most of all he loved the Lord with all of his heart and was not afraid to witness and testify of the great forgiveness and goodness of God that he had experienced.
Including his parents, he is preceded in death by; a brother, Joe Reavis, and a grandson, Steven Vaughn Ray.
Those left to cherish and honor Billy’s memories include: his wife of 38 years, Marlene Reavis; his daughter, Naomi Moose (Thomas); his sons, Keith Reavis (Tammy), Phillip Reavis (Patricia), Darrick Reavis (April), Shannon Brewer (Kendra); his grandchildren, Kaleb Reavis, Lana Bernard (Se`bastien), Anna Kerr; his brother, Dale Reavis (Pam); his sister, Rita Crowe; his sister in law, Darlene Mecimore (David); his niece, Jamie Smith (James); his nephew, Joshua Mecimore; his great niece and nephew, Ella and Anderson Smith; a special cousin, Marsha Kay Allgood.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Valley Nursing Rehabilitation and Carolina Caring for the wonderful care they gave to Billy.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. James Smith and Rev. Matthew Crandford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Alexander County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be: David Mecimore, Joshua Mecimore, Austin Grant, Jody Morrison, Matthew Cranford, and T.J. Jarvis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the J.O.Y. Senior group from CountrySide Church.
