Blenda C Beaver

            Mrs. Blenda C. Beaver, age 83, of Hiddenite, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

            Blenda was born November 7, 1937 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Allie Blake Millsaps and Gladys Bowles Millsaps.

            Blenda was a graduate of Clevenger Business College in Wilkesboro and received an Executive Secretarial Degree. She was a homemaker and a loving care giver for her entire family. She was a loving supportive wife to her husband, and a loving mother, grandmother, and also an outstanding mother-in-law.

Blenda was a member of Linney’s Grove Baptist Church, where she played the piano and was well known in her early years as pianist and lead singer for the Linney’s Grove Quartet. She also loved her church family and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. Blenda also loved putting puzzles together and quilting.

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold A. Beaver; and an infant brother, Glade Millsaps.

            Those left to cherish and honor her memory include: her son, Harold Evan Beaver (Shelia), of Hiddenite; her daughter, Diane Beaver Baretsky of Hickory; grandsons, Bradley Alan Beaver; Brian McLaury (Stephanie) of Hickory, Michael McLaury (Kalia) of Taylorsville; great-grandchildren, Ellyzabeth McLaury, Fredrick James McLaury, Piper Haven McLaury. .

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Shady Grove Cemetery. Revs. Gary Lawrence and Brian Eades will officiate.

            The body will lie-in-state from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home.

            Mike Millsaps, Blake Millsaps, Ethan Millsaps, Conrod Millsaps, Clint Millsaps, and Leonard Kale will serve as pallbearers.

            The family would like to express a special thanks to Catawba Valley Assisted Living Staff and Catawba Valley Medical Center for the care that they had given Blenda.
