Charles Larry Jones Sr.

            Charles Larry Jones, Sr., age 77, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

            Charles was born May 2, 1948, in Putnam County, Florida, the son of the late Margaret Jones Dowling and step-dad, Lonnie Dowling.

            Charles proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and was a truck driver for most of his working career.

He enjoyed working on cars and going to the races.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Jones, Jr.; brother, Dean Dowling.

            Those left to cherish and honor Charles’s memories include: his daughter, Christie Willis of Statesville; his sons, Kenneth Jones (Angel), Terry Jones (Amber) all of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Kendall Jones, Kevin Jones, Karissa Jones, Harmony West, Odessa West, Quin West, Dustin Lee Jones, Tyler Lee Jones; his sister, Sheila Crites of Orlando, Florida; his brothers, Donnie Dowling, Earl Dowling both of Orlando, Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Paul Schronce will officiate.
