Cora Lee (Price) Bowman

            Cora Lee Bowman, age 89, of Conover, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, surrounded by her children. Her husband passed away on the same date, 18 years earlier.

            Cora was born August 29, 1936, in Caldwell County, the daughter of the late Rubin Alexander Price and Neve Elizabeth Bolick Price.

            For most of her working career she worked in the furniture industry for Clayton Marcus and Huntington House. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church. She loved her church and church family. She enjoyed being in the Breakfast Club at the church. She also loved to travel with Christian Tours to the Netherlands, Germany, and western United States.

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 53 years, Vonteena Bowman; grandson, Brandon Clouse and five siblings.

            Those left to cherish and honor Cora’s memories include: her daughter, Melissa Clouse (Mac Moose) of Conover; her sons, Jerry Bowman (Cherie) of Lenoir, Terry Bowman (Tamara) of Front Royal, VA; her grandchildren, Katie and Ethan Bowman; her great-grandchild, Jacob Clouse Runion; her sister, Rose Rooker of SC; and a number of other relatives and friends.

            The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until Noon, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at Noon with Pastor Justin Mauney officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church, 9379 NC Hwy 127, Hickory, NC 28601.
