Dalas Medley

Mr. Dalas Medley, 74, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024 at his home.  

Dalas was born on August 1, 1950 in Ashe County to Willard Woodrow Medley and Nellie Eldreth Medley.

At the age of 2, the family moved to Pennsylvania where he attended school and graduated school.   He worked in Mushroom Houses and did several odd jobs.  Dalas met Shelia Wood Medley and they married August 1, 1970 and raised 3 children together.   He eventually began his career as a truck driver and even had his own trucking company called, She and I Trucking named for his wife.  Dalas was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. 

Dalas is preceded in death by his parents; son, Scotty Medley; brothers, Dean Eldreth and Glen Royal.

Dalas is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sheila of the home; daughter, Crystal Dawn Medley; son, Troy Medley and wife, Morgan of Fleetwood; sisters, Nancy Kerley and husband, Don of Wilkesboro, Nina Royal of Jefferson; brother, David “Dave” Medley and wife, Kathy of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Hunter Scott Greene, Kaleb Austin Greene, Dalas Conner Medley, Chole “Emmy” Greene; several great grandchildren and a very special person and niece, Michelle Medley Jorgensen and husband, Todd of Pennsylvania. 

 A service will be held by the family at a later date.
