Mr. Daniel Lee Wood, 69, of North Wilkesboro passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
Daniel was born on September 6, 1956 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Lee Wall Wood Jr. and Zoe Virginia Potter Wood.
Tech Sergent Daniel retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He served from December 2, 1975-December 31, 1995 from Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina. Daniel was loved by his Heavenly Father and loved and adored by his wife of 40 years, whom he spoiled. He was an amazing loving father to his children who loved him deeply, and a wonderful Papaw with a big heart filled with much love and joy for his beautiful grandchildren, immediate and extended family. He was a strong honorable, hard-working man who loved life and spoke his heart. Guns, fishing and archery were he favorite hobbies. He was also Mr. Fix All and a very quick-witted man. Everyone who knew him loved him. A few of his favorite saying were “if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it” and “I can fix anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn”. He will be truly missed by all who knew him but we know that we will see him again when we meet together in Heaven with Jesus for all eternity.
