David Bruce (Sr.) Vickers

Mr. David Bruce Vickers Sr, 76, of Wilkesboro passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his residence. 

David was born on October 29, 1946 in Wilkes County to James Odell Vickers and Mary Alvenia Carlton Vickers. 

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and hunting in the great outdoors.   

David is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mattie “Pat” Vickers; sisters, Linda Sue Davis, Muriel Lee Johnson, Emma Cleary, Moselle Purdue; brothers, Otis Vickers, Don Vickers, Bill Vickers, Jay Vickers, James Vickers, Hoy “Glen” Vickers, Archie Vickers and grandson, Andrew “Andy” Goforth. 

David is survived by his daughter Deanna Blevins (Brian) of North Wilkesboro; sons, David Vickers Jr (Jessica) of Wilkesboro, Timmy “Tim” Vickers (Kristyna) of Wilkesboro; sister, Doris Perkins (Leonard) Jerry Vickers (Janet), Bob Vickers (Karen) 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 

A viewing will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel, 2109 Moravian Falls Road, Moravian Falls, NC 28654.
