Donald "Don" Walters

            Donald “Don” Walters, age 77, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

            Don was born August 31, 1947, in Fremont, Ohio, the son of the late Willard Wayne Walters and Norma Gene Twiss Walters.

            Don proudly served in the United States Army and was of the Lutheran faith. He had worked as a school bus driver/instructor at Rim of the World Unified School District in Lake Arrowhead, California for 25 years. He loved his family and enjoyed woodworking, riding his Harley and traveling. He also enjoyed the holidays making gingerbread houses and carving pumpkins with his grandchildren.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his wife of 53 years, Gwen Holzmer Walters of the home; his daughter, Debra married to T. J. Lamb of Mooresville, NC; his sons, David Walters married to Emilie Walters of California, Dennis Walters married to Hector Franceschi of Illinois; his grandchildren, Aiden Walters, Ethan Walters, Savannah Lamb, Charlotte Lamb; his brother, Richard Walters married to Liz Walters of California.
