Dorothy Bernice (Pinion) Wayne

Mrs. Dorothy Bernice Pinion Wayne, 94, of North Wilkesboro passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Ridge Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.     

Dorothy was born on May 15, 1930 in Cabarrus County to Grady Alexander Pinion and Minnie Mary Ethel Coffey Pinion. 

Her favorite past time was quilting. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.  Dorothy was the best mother; she taught her children the Bible so that we will meet in Heaven again one day. 

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Wayne; sisters, Mary Lee Pinkston, Marie Collier and brother, Thomas Pinion.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Anne Knouse and husband, Calvin of Stephens City, Virginia; Nancy Shepherd of North Wilkesboro; Carol Weller and husband, Andrew of Raphine, Virginia; grandchildren, Anne Marie, Justin, Donnie, Andrew, Pete, Margie; great grandchildren, Hannah, Azariah, Ryan, Michael, Cody and Erica  

 A graveside service will be held at Mount Lawn Memorial Park, Monday, October 14, 2024  at 1:00 p.m.  

 Rev. Roger Wagoner will be officiating.
