Everette McKinley Wike, age 82, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Wilkes Medical Center.
Everette was born July 30, 1943, in Alexander County, the son of the late Ray Wike and Edna St. Clair Wike Mitchell.
Everette proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver and a farmer.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Harrington Wike.
Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his daughters, Tanya Link (Richard), Shannon Chatham (Barry), Tina Hallman (Steve); his grandchildren, Randy Hallman (Katie), Meagan Hendren (Dustin), Preston Link, Grant Chatham (Bel), AJ Hallman, Karina Link, Jordan Chatham, Deacon Link, Amanda Hallman, Emma Hallman; great-grandchildren, Raylan Hendren, Natalie Hallman, Willa Hendren, Fenton Hendren, Charlotte Hallman, Sawyer Hendren; and numerous special friends that are considered family.
The graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Dr. James Smith will officiate.
The body will lie-in-state from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund, 862 Silas Deal Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
