Frances Marie Bennett Blount, age 76, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Frances was born May 25, 1948 in Alexander County, the daughter of Florence Bennett Wilson of Hiddenite.
During her working career she had worked for Brian Center East in Hickory as a CNA, Dickies Mill in Stony Point, Schneider Mills and Devries Brothers. She was a member of Old Path Holiness Church, but in her earlier years at Zion Chapel AME Zion Church. She was loved by her family.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 42 years, Robert Lee Blount; two daughters, Debra Bennett, Joyce White; grandson, Lorenzo Bennett; maternal grandparents; brothers, Samuel, Willie, and Clarence Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Including her mother, those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her daughter, Alfreida Bennett of the home; her grandchildren, Clifton Bennett, Brittany Millsaps, Whittany Bennett, Mandell Bennett, Erica Bennett, Amanda Bennett, Kalah Bennett; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a special great-granddaughter, Brielle Millsaps; her sisters, Betty Bennett, Darlene Hoover both of Statesville, Raynell Poole (John), Margaret Adams all of Hiddenite; her brother, Jonathan Bennett of Statesville; her aunt, Willie Mae Bennett of Statesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Home-Going Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Zion Chapel AME Zion Church. Pastor Robin Curry and Pastor Chris Sullivan will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
