Gaylon "Shorty" Harrington Obituary

Mr. Gaylon “Shorty” Harrington, age 66, of Taylorsville, went to his heavenly home on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

He was born on November 24, 1954 in Alexander County, the son of the late Harvey and Maxine (Daniels) Harrington.

Shorty proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He loved helping others but most of all cherished time spent with family and friends especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: sons, Josh Harrington (Christy), Ashley Harrington (Erin); daughter, Emily Atwood (Chris); grandchildren, TJ, Cody, Kanon, Lilian, JD, Ace and Ailey; sisters, Pat Deal, Kathy Lackey, Barbara Gentle; brothers, Danny Harrington (Joann), Lanny Harrrington ( Jamie), Harvey Harrington, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Hefner Pond on Teague Town Road with military honors accorded by Alexander County Veterans Honor Guard.
