Gaynell Jolly Levan, age 82, of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Taylorsville House.
Gaynell was born October 30, 1942, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Daniel Avery Barnes and Madeline Jolly Brown.
She worked for Broyhill Furniture as a sewer for most of her working career and she was of the Baptist faith. She loved her children, nature, animals, and wildlife. She also enjoyed fishing.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Dean Brown.
Those left to cherish and honor Gaynell’s memories include: her daughter, Melissa Hefner (Greg) of Conover; her son, Tanny Levan of Taylorsville; her grandchild, Caden Levan.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bill Orren will officiate. Burial will follow in the Millersville Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to any Alzheimer’s Association or Mental Health organization.
