It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Thomas McNeil, Sr on Monday at his home in Ferguson.
Tom was born August 24, 1932 to Frank and Paralee McNeil, he was 1 of 15 brothers and sisters.
Tom was employed at Broyhill furniture for 37 years. He enjoyed riding the roads in Ferguson, fishing with his son and grandkids. His favorite pastimes included gardening and driving his beloved tractor. He enjoyed spending the day in his recliner watching the squirrels and birds and over the years had several dogs that brought him a lot of joy. Tom loved the stories his son told of his trucking adventures. He loved the funny stories and had the best laugh that sometimes he just couldn't stop. He really loved seeing all the new babies that were coming into the family. He very much enjoyed his wife's cooking but he loved the sweets!
Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and sisters and oldest daughter, Darlene.
Those left to honor his memory include, his wife Edith of 67 years; 3 children, Kathleen Call and husband, Grayland, Jackie Hicks and husband, Robbie, Thomas McNeil and wife, Kristy; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. His passing leaves a hole no one can ever fill. We are forever grateful for the 93 years he was here for us to spend time with him.
The family would like to thank the hospice team for the care they gave Tom during the short time they were there and the support they gave Edith and the family.
