Hubert Nance

            Hubert Nance, age 91, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, surrounded by family at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn in Claremont, NC.

            Hubert was born February 26, 1928 in Alexander County, the son of the late Mitchell Nance and Litha Marlow Nance.

            He had retired from Hickory Chair Furniture after many years and was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 60 years.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Nance; daughter, Gail Hammer; step-daughter, Cathy Fox; step-son, Larry Fox, two brothers, Norman Nance, Issac Baker; four sisters, Ora Johnson, Nora Anthony, Vivian C. Irvin and Lora Moore.

            Those left to cherish his memories include: three sisters, Cora Resare of Redmond, Oregon, Garlene Shawver and Sadie Porter both of Taylorsville; three brothers, Vernon Bill Nance and wife, Jerldine, James Nance and wife, Nancy, Jerry Nance and wife, Judy, all of Taylorsville and a number of nieces and nephews.

            The family will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 455 Millersville Road, Taylorsville. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
