Imogene Howie Herman, age 79, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at her home.
Imogene was born November 16, 1944 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Gene Richardson and Barbara Wyncott Howie.
She worked for the Women’s Clinic of Hickory for 23 years and formally worked for the private practice of Dr. Merrill and Dr. Craig. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the choir. She enjoyed sewing making items for family members. She also enjoyed gardening and loved her animals.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sister, Harriet Jakiela.
Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her sons, Marshall Newman of the home, Jeff Newman of Lenoir, Greg Newman of Lincolnton; her step-daughters, Rachel Swink (Mike) of Hickory, Shirley Deviney (Randy) of Catawba, Sandra Edwards (Lawrence) of Icard; her grandchild, Allison Benge; her step-grandchildren, Emily Langenstein, Sara Swink, Nathaniel Swink; her great-grandchild, Harrison Benge; her brother, William Howie (Birgitta) of Cary, NC.
The family will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Pastor Scott Henson will officiate.
