Irene Tew

            As the sun was setting on Sunday, February 9, 2025, Irene Tew, age 91, of Hickory, was welcomed into Heaven to meet her Savior Jesus Christ.

            Irene was born in Caldwell County, to the late Marvin Annas and Rose Oxford Annas on October 17, 1933.

            Irene was a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hudson, NC. She served many years as a leader in Bible drills and served also as a Sunday school teacher. She loved flowers and loved to read, having read the Bible thru many times.

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Wilson, Ella Mae Cloer, Merita Vannoy; her brothers, Rex, Jack and Ned Annas; her son-in-law, Phillip Hubbard.

            Those left to cherish and honor Irene’s memories include: her husband of 53 years, Frank Tew of the home; her daughters, Gail Hubbard of Granite Falls, Gloria Hubbard of Hudson; her granddaughter, Christie Hubbard; her grandsons, Patrick (Sharon), Phillip (Cathy), Michael, Dee (Leah Beth) Hubbard; her great-grandchildren, Garrett (Chantel), Morgan, Mason, Asher, Colton and Hadley Hubbard; her great-great-grandchildren, Hudson and Stellan Hubbard; her brother, Steve Annas (JoAnn); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

            A Graveside Service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church, 4676 Horseshoe Bend Road, Hudson, NC 28638. Pastor Lonnie Bell and Pastor Jeffery Strading will officiate.

            Memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice.
