Mr. James Kennth “Ken” Church,71, of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Ken was born on March 10, 1953 in Wilkes County to James Walter Church and Annie Mae Griffey Church.
He enjoyed the great outdoors fishing, gardening and farming. James listened to bluegrass music and drank coffee every day no matter the weather.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lula Diane Bentley Church; brothers, Junior Church, Travis Church; sisters, Dorothy Ferguson, Kay McCallister, Marcella Johnson; and grandson, Isiah Pena.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Melissa Church and husband, Thomas Parsons of North Wilkesboro; sons, James Ronald “Ronnie” Dale Church and wife, Karen of Millers Creek, James “Porky” Rodney Church and wife, Wendy of Hayes, Kenneth “Allen” Church and wife, Brandi of Boomer; sisters, Penny Foster and husband, Bill, Ola Mae Winebarger, Sue Winebarger; brother, Eric Church; step children, Luiz Pena, Mary Pena; companion, Lisa Ann Pena; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A viewing will take place from 1:00-1:45pm on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel, 2109 Moravian Falls Road, Moravian Falls, NC 28654. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, 2280 NC Hwy 16 N. Taylorsville, NC 28681.
