James Nelson George

Mr. James “Jim” Nelson George, 80, of Boomer passed away on Saturday 15, 2024 at his home.   
Jim was born on August 22, 1943 in Brazoria County, Texas to James Harley George and Armettie Jane Kimmons George.  
Jim was involved with the Boy Scouts and the Red Cross. He was also a survivalist who enjoyed scuba diving and water skiing.  He worked as a State Farm Agent for 26 years.  Jim proudly served in the U.S Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran.  
 Jim is preceded in death by his parents. 
Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara W. George of the home; son, James Edward George (Paula) of North Wilkesboro; sister, Joyce Hahn (Jack) of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jeffrey George (Katlyn), Jamie George, both of Ferguson, Gabriel Szczepanski of North Wilkesboro; great grandchildren, Landon and Lynnix George of Ferguson, one niece and two nephews.  
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Boomer.  
Pastor Wade Collins will be officiating.
