Jeannie Rene (Smith) Johnson

Jeannie Rene Smith Johnson, age 57, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, after an extended sickness at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.

Jeannie was born February 22, 1968, the daughter of the late Denny Harold Smith, Sr. and Bonita Kay Lane Smith.

Jeannie was of the Baptist faith and a former employee of Millersville Child Development Center, where she was a Pre-K 2 teacher for many years. Her hobbies were drawing, writing and going to plays and shows. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Denny Harold Smith, Sr. and her mother, Bonita Kay Lane Smith both from Herndon, WV; her brother, Mark Allen Smith and his wife Rebecca Smith both of Mullens, WV. 

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Johnson of the home; her son and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Ray Miller of Charleston WV and their children, Amelia and Asher; her brother, Denny Harold Smith, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, from Bumpass, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will do a Celebration of Life Service at Noon, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Millersville Baptist Church of Taylorsville, all who wish to come are invited to come help us remember her. Pastor Bill Orren will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until Noon prior to the service.
