Joyce Avalene (Greene) Osborne

            Joyce Avalene Greene Osborne, age 72, of Taylorsville, entered Heaven’s gates on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Taylorsville House.

            Joyce was born July 14, 1948 in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late Turner Greene and Ola Taylor Greene.

            A loving mother and homemaker, Joyce’s greatest pleasure was caring for her family and home. She was a great cook, her biscuits and gravy was so good she enjoyed bird watching especially cardinals. She also enjoyed puzzles and crafts, her love of God always shined through for others to see.

            Including her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by: her loving husband of 31 years, Billy Joe Osborne, Sr.; a daughter, Kimberly Osborne; a granddaughter, Ashley Hackett.

            Those left to cherish and honor her memory include: her daughters, Renee Sherrod and husband, Robert, Ellen Barnette and husband, Larry, Donna May and husband, Dale; her son, Billy Joe Osborne, Jr.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other loving relatives.

            A private graveside service will he held at Scenic Memorial Gardens.

            The family wished to thank all the staff of The Taylorsville House and Medi-Home Hospice for the loving care of her during her last days.
