Judy Elaine (Cook) Fletcher

Judy Elaine Cook Fletcher, age 77, of the Brushy Mtn. community, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Fletcher was born June 30, 1947 in Alexander County to King Darius and Maggie Millsaps Cook. Judy was a member and music director at New Hope Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Mrs. Fletcher was previously employed with the Wilkes County School system as an assistant school teacher. She loved music and to sing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda McClain; daughter-in-law, Beverly Fletcher.

Judy is survived by her spouse, Don Fletcher of Brushy Mtn community; sons, Jonathan Fletcher and Joseph Fletcher both of the Brushy Mtn. community, Daniel Fletcher of Alexander County; granddaughter, Kylie Fletcher of the Brushy Mtn. community; and sister, Betty Lovette of Alexander County; brother-in-law, Jerry McClain.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024 at New Hope Baptist Church in Moravian Falls with Pastor Tom Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church from 2:00 until 3:00 on Sunday, prior to the service.
