June Barker (Dutenhaver) Petrie

June Barker Petrie, age 81, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Taylorsville, NC.

June was born August 6, 1942 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Rolland Edmond Dutenhaver and Mildred Nelson Rund.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland Edmond Dutenhaver and Mildred Nelson Rund, and husband, Edwin Tad “Pete” Petrie.

She is survived by her sister Patricia Peters; families of her niece, Kristin and nephew, Nicholas; brother and sister-in-law, John and Anna Petrie; and her dear family friend Jake Lowman.

June was an avid traveler, lover of all God’s creatures both feathered and furry, a teacher, musician, mentor, longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorsville, NC and friend to many.

A graveside service will be held at Noon, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette, IN, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Taylorsville, NC, on July 21, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.
