Kathy Ann Curry, age 62, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Kathy was born June 2, 1963, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late James Robert Cardwell and Idell Elizabeth Davis Cardwell.
Earlier in her working career, she was a CNA at Valley Nursing and later worked at
Wal-mart. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She also loved baking cakes and helping others. She thought the world of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Elizabeth Austin.
Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her husband, David Curry, Sr.; her daughters, Toni Grant, Danielle Barnes; her son, David Curry, Jr. (Brianna); her grandchildren, Eric Grant, Jr. (Maisee), Anthony Grant (Taylor), Cameron Grant, Haley Barnes (Zach), Tyler Barnes (Savannah), Natalya Matheson, Christian Matheson, Hunter and Isabella Curry; her great-granddaughter, Raelynn Grant “Sweet pea to her” and one due in October 2025, Emery A. Grant; her brother, James Robert Cardwell (Christy); a number of nieces, and nephews; and special friend, Rejohnnica Bailey.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Pallbearers include: Eric Grant, Jr., Anthony Grant, Cameron Grant, Tyler Barnes, Christian Matheson, and James Robert Cardwell.
