Maines "Woody" Lee Woodruff

            Mr. Manies “Woody” Lee Woodruff, 88, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

            Woody was born May 29, 1930 in Wilkes County, the son of the late Mack Woodruff and Minnie Winebarger Woodruff.

            He was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of North Wilkesboro High School. He had worked in maintenance for a bakery. He enjoyed going to flea markets, where he was part of the Barn Yard Opry. The group enjoyed playing Bluegrass and Gospel music.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, who passed away on June 12, 2017, Jean Marie Woodruff.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his daughter, Diane Woodruff and husband, Stan Schmidt, of Ohio.
