Marcella "Mot" Ann Icenhour

            Marcella Ann “Mot” Icenhour, age 82, of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Valley Nursing Center.

            She was born January 27, 1943, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late L.C. Icenhour and Lucille Hafer Icenhour.

            She worked in the furniture industry as a cutter. She was a life-long member of Friendship Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling. Mot was just a fun person that loved family and her friends. She loved telling stories to her great-nieces and great-nephews.

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sisters, Kay Smith, Linda Reitzel, Betty Rector; her brother-in-law, Allen Reitzel.

            Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her nieces and nephews, who she considered as her children, Lisa James, Ricky Rector, Todd Smith, Sharrie Summerlin, Tina Rector Armstrong, Sonya Martin, Tonya Wagoner, Eric Rector; several great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Johnny Smith, special friend, Dallard Lail.

            The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Friendship Lutheran Church. Pastor Josh Tucker will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

            The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
