On June 28, 2021 Mary Pearl Duncan Meredith, 78, left her earthly home, for her glorious reunion with love ones in heaven.
She was born January 4, 1943 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Joseph Day Duncan and Cloyce Kate Teague Duncan.
In 1961, Pearl graduated from Hiddenite High School. She was a hard working lady that worked 23 years for Bassett Furniture, and worked for the US Postal Service for almost 20 years, and also worked for several local stores as a clerk.
She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a part-time pianist in her younger years. Pearl never met a stranger, she loved to talk and reminisce about old times. She loved to garden and play board games. She was a die-hard fan of the television show, Dragnet.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Kermit Frank Meredith, who passed away on February 20, 2012 after 44 years of marriage; a granddaughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Fleenor.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include: her daughters, Frances Meredith Crecelius (Jason) of Southport, NC, Sandra Meredith of Taylorsville; her grandchildren, Bradley Meredith, Zachary Meredith and girlfriend, Kindell both of Taylorsville, Skylar Crecelius of Southport; her brother, Robert Duncan (Patti) of Monroe; special niece, Angela of King; three fur-babies, Dottie, Jake, Raven; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021 at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Revs. Steve Parks and Mitch King will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The body will lie-in-state from 9 a.m. until Noon, Friday, July 2, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home.
