Mary Lee Parsons

            Mary Lee Parsons, age 81, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House.

            Mary was born June 3, 1943, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Sherman Parsons and Ethel Howell Parsons.

            Mary graduated from Happy Plains High School. She worked for 40 plus years for Tyson Food. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, where she was on the planning committee and kitchen committee. She enjoyed going to thrift stores, flea markets and liked to cook.

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: sisters, Hazel Parsons Mayes, Florence Parsons, and Effie Parsons.

            Those left to cherish and honor Mary’s memories include: her sister, Shirley Parsons of Taylorsville; her brother, Randy Parsons of Taylorsville; and a host of other family members and friends.

            The Home-Going Service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. John Baptist Church. Pastor T. E. Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.

            The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home.
