Maybell (Thorne) Price

            Maybell T. Price, age 76, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Taylorsville.

            Maybell was born August 12, 1948, in Burke County, the daughter of the late Ralph Thorne and Ellie Marie Helton Thorne.

            She worked in the furniture industry for most of her working career and was a member of Victory Baptist Church on Hwy 16 North in Taylorsville. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Pressley, reading books and watching NASCAR racing and wrestling.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband and father of her four children, John P. Price; her second husband, Benny D. Price; four brothers and a sister.

            Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her children, Martha H. Price of Taylorsville, Cora Lea Stansel (Bobby) of Hiddenite, James Thorne (Lisa) of Caldwell County, Roger Price (Katie) of Taylorsville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Pierce (Billy) of Statesville, Judy Hall (Jerry Mitchell) of Hiddenite, Susie Punch (Brad) of Lenoir; a brother, Ralph Thorne (Jan) of Hickory; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

            The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home. Pastor Phillip Coffey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery.

            The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.

            James Thorne, Justin Keller, Chris Thorne, Ricky Walker, Bobby Thorne, and Clarence Swink will serve as pallbearers.
