Melissa D. Edwards

Melissa D. Edwards, age 59, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 at her home.

Melissa was born May 7, 1967, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Hugh Wilson and Bess Moody Wilson.

She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She worked for Shur-tape in Hickory for 24 years. She loved to bake and cook, she was also an avid sports fan, especially racing.

Including her parents she was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include: her former husband and significant other, Randy Edwards; her brother, Russell Wilson (Edith) of Taylorsville; her sister-in-Christ, Cheryl Hughes; her brother-in-Christ and special friend, John Owen; and her baby boy doggie, Cody.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2026 in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Houston will officiate. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
