Melissa "Missy" Ann (Jones) Bumgarner

Mrs. Melissa “Missy” Ann Jones Bumgarner,54, of Boomer passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at her home. 
Missy was born on June 14, 1970 in Guilford County to Danny Ray Jones and Connie Jean Richardson Harris. 
She always had God first in her life and attended Freedom Baptist Church. Her beloved husband and best friend was always by her side, providing support and love no matter the obstacle. Her family was her priority, she dearly loved her grandchildren.  She attended all their games and was always ready for a game of Pac-Man. Missy was also an avid Steelers fan.  She spoiled them with lots of gifts and an abundance of Reese’s Cups. Missy also had an artistic talent; she made custom glitter tumblers.    She stayed connected with her family no matter the distance, FaceTimeing them often and fulfilling her role as “Best Nana Ever”  
Missy is preceded in death by her parents, Danny Jones, Connie Harris; grandparents, Sol and Elza Jones, Cecil and Freda Richardson.      
Missy is survived by her loving husband, of 38 years, Fredrick “Dale” Bumgarner of the home; daughter, Ashley Bumgarner Stone, and husband, Austin of Boomer; son, Joshua Dale Bumgarner and wife, Jennifer of Mocksville; grandchildren, Ty Bumgarner, Trevor Bumgarner, Ezra Stone and Elisha Stone; brother, Brian Jones and wife, Britt; nephew Bristol Jones; niece, Katie Jones; special cousins, Vickie and Tommy Callahan; step father, Lonnie Harris of Boomer and grand dogs Ralph and Fred.  

 The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Lebanon Baptist Church in Taylorsville.  The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Lebanon Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  
Rev. Eddie Jolly, Dr. Sam Vallini will be officiating.
