Michael Joseph Petote

            Michael Joseph Petote, age 71, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at his home. He was born May 20, 1952 in Brockport, NY, the son of the late Joseph Michael Petote and Audrey Popp Petote.

            He was a farmer in western NY and a millwright for most of his working career. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Taylorsville. He enjoyed going to the YMCA and meeting people while working out. He got great pleasure driving around and looking at the crops growing.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Jermyn Petote of the home; his daughters, Serena Murphy of Nunda, NY, Melissa Sy (Charles) of Brockport, NY, Nastasha Petote or Round O, SC; his sons, Shawn Murphy (Marsha) of Warsaw, NY, Wade Murphy of Holley, NY; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two on the way; his sisters, Renee Bertoni (Patrick) of Holley, NY, Chris Petote of Avon, NY, his step-sisters, Georgie Fauci (Wayne) of Holley, NY, Beryl Dale of San Diego, CA; his brothers, Daniel Petote (Sherry) of Rochester, NY, Philip Petote (Dawn) of Mulberry, FL; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

            The funeral service will be held at Noon, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Taylorsville. Father Jose Cameilo will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until Noon prior to the service.
