Nancy Mae (Ballard) Bumgarner

Mrs. Nancy Mae Ballard Bumgarner, 70, of North Wilkesboro, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Westwood Hills Skilled Nursing Center.  

Nancy was born on March 15, 1952 in Wilkes County to James McKnight Ballard and Carrie Pauline Caudill. 

She enjoyed fellowshipping with others, she never meet a stranger. 

Nancy is preceded in death her parents and sisters, Phyllis “Sue” Foster and Carrie Wilcox.

Nancy is survived by her son, Raymond Johnson Jr. and wife, Earnestine of Wilkesboro; daughter, Nora Pauline Church of Elkin; sister, Josie Spears and husband, Bobby of North Wilkesboro; brother, Robert Ballard of North Wilkesboro; 4 grandchildren, Jake Johnson of North Wilkesboro, Travis Johnson and wife, Shanna, Chris Johnson and wife Faith also of North Wilkesboro, Joshua Dykes and wife, Erica of Booneville, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.     

A grave side service will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Jesus Church: 338 Halls Creek Rd, McGrady, NC 28649.   Minister Lee Riggins will be officiating. 

In lieu of flowers memorials make be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital: 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis TN 38105.
